What's the difference? Shave ice is made from finely shaving a block of ice to make a soft fluffy fresh snow like texture. It's mainly served in a cup or a daisy shaped cup. This soft texture absorbs all the syrup instead of running all the way to the bottom of the cup. A snow cone is made from crushed ice. It's a crunchy texture and mainly served in a paper cone.
